ARTE E PUPI
MISSION
The cultural association "Arte e Pupi" was born in 2013 thanks to the experience of Francesco Salamanca, Master Puppeteer manufacturer for over 50 years. The mission of the Cultural Association "Arte e Pupi" is to promote and spread the culture and tradition of the Sicilian puppets and ancient crafts, making it accessible to the public through demonstrations, cultural and educational activities.
GINIUSI
Prize to the Sicilian genius
As part of the Summer Fair of Pedara in 2016, the first edition of Giniusi - Prize to the Sicilian genius took place, organised by the cultural association Arte e Pupi, by Confcommercio of Pedara and sponsored by the City of Pedara and by the Sports, Tourism and Entertainment of Sicily Region. It was an opportunity to reward those who have distinguished themselves by giving prestige to the Sicilian tradition: Pietro di Noto, Master ice cream maker that has stood for the production of ice creams of excellence; Paolo Antonio, a young singer from Catania and web phenomenon, Michelangelo Costantino, actor, and Nino Amico, Master Puppeteer of the Sicilian tradition.

Show and cultural meetings
As part of the Summer Fair of Pedara in 2016, the cultural association Arte e Pupi, with the important collaboration of the Confcommercio of Pedara, has organised six evenings of culture and show of the Opera dei Pupi.
Through the stories of Nino Amico, Biagio Foti and Francesco Salamanca, different themes of the Opera dei Pupi have been approached.
OPEN WINERY
Winery Nicosia, Trecastagni
For the fifth consecutive year, the cultural association Arte e Pupi has organised (in the context of the national event Open Cellars 2016) a day of discovery of ancient crafts in the exclusive estate of Nicosia Wineries in Trecastagni.
Sommelier, craftsmen and Opera dei Pupi shows have made this day of discovery an exciting day.
ANTICHI MESTIERI
Craftsmen, music and sicilian puppets
On the occasion of the tour of the Summer Fair 2015 in the city of Trecastagni, Arte e Pupi association has organised a final evening with an itinerant gathering numerous artisans, craftsmen and their art creations.
Also from the stage of the square Don Bosco Trecastagni, Gianni Sineri and his band I Colapisci gave to the audience a musical journey through the ancient Sicilian rhymes.
